About Us

The Roosevelt Engine Company #3 Website

In the website you will be able to find out more about us and learn much more too.

Roosevelt Engine Company #3 is one of three stations within the Roosevelt Fire District which is located in the historic Town of Hyde Park, NY.

The Roosevelt Fire District became a reality in October of 1954, and in 1955 Roosevelt Volunteers built this station on Roosevelt Road in Hyde Park, NY.  This station along with another two stations, Station #1 which was built on Cardinal Rd. and Station #2 which was built on Cream St.

In 1955 the district purchased a 1955 Ford front mount pumper for Station #3, which served the district well till its retirement in the 1980’s.   In addition to the Engine Company, a small group of people formed the Rescue Squad in 1958 when an ambulance was donated to the district by the Hyde Park Fire Department.

In 1969 an addition was put onto the station adding four large bays off the north side of the original building. Today the station houses Engines 63-13 & 63-14, Ladder 63-45 and Ambulance 63-71. (These vehicles can be found in the Apparatus Gallery)

With the dedication and effective administration of a group of Fire Commissioners and a Chief Staff that over the past 54 years has proven that the Roosevelt Fire District will continue to grow and maintain one of the truly great community Volunteer Services.
