63-14 Mutual Aid to Fairview
Tue. Aug 7th 2012

Engine 63-14 along with 63-12, Poughkeepsie 57-12 and Pleasant Valley 56-33 ran a pre-arranged mutual aid structure fire box to the Fairview Fire District at Aldrich Motors on East Dorsey Lane late yesterday afternoon. On arrival of Fairview units they found a good amount of smoke exiting the structure from what turned out to be a flash fire caused by welding work being done on a vehicle in the garage.

Firefighters stretched in a 1 3/4" hose line to check for any fire and hot spots, all areas checked and found negative fires. Roosevelt 63-14 was backed into the driveway and prepared to unload water to supply if needed. Roosevelt 63-12 relocated to Fairview Station for stand-by and Poughkeepsie and Pleasant Valley stood-by and assisted with manpower on scene.

All units were back in service within an hour or so. One male was transported from the scene to the hospital for evaluation of minor burns and breathing problems.
