Mutual Aid Structure Fire - Fairview Fire District

At about 0130 this morning, Roosevelt 63-14 and 63-12 were dispatched to the scene of a reported structure fire at 15 Yates Avenue of Violet Avenue in the Fairview Fire District. While enroute Units were advised of a possible victim trapped on the 2nd floor of the residence unable to extricate herself. First arriving Fairview crews made a quick search finding her disoriented on the 2nd floor and rescued and her pet dog from out of the house. Click link for story in MidHudson News

On arrival of mutual units, Roosevelt 63-14 laid a 5 inch supply line into the scene to supply firefighting efforts. Roosevelt manpower assisted in getting incidentals on the scene in place, water supply, ground ladders and venting.

Other units on scene assisting were City of Poughkeepsie, Pleasant Valley Fire Departments, Mobile Life Support Services ALS, Dutchess County Sherriffs, Hyde Park Police and Dutchess County Red Chapter. The Highland Fire Department (Ulster County) was put on stand-by at the Fairview Fire Station.

A good stop on the fire was made, two occupants were transported to the hospital for evaluation and the family dog taken to a local animal hospital for check-up. The fire is under investigation, but not believed to be suspicious in nature, investigations is being conducted by the Dutchess County Fire Investigation Division and the DCSO.
