Call History
Accident cuts power to community for over 8 hours

Members of Roosevelt were dispatched to a report of an auto accident in the Greenfields Development off Cream Street at about 0945 hrs. yesterday with a report of a car that hit a utility pole with wires down.   Enroute advisement was made that there is possible ejection from the vehicle of the occupant.

Arrival on scene finds a soul occupant/driver of the vehicle standing outside her car.  EMS crews evaluated teh victim and she signed offr refusing medical attention,  while fire crewws worked to protect the scene from bystanders. 

In total there were 4 utility poles and several transformers and wires knocked down.  Services of telephone, electric and cable were off for over 8 hours on this beautiful sunny Easter Sunday,  leaving many with needing to opt out to other locations for there families Easter dinners.

Scene was turned over to Utility crews about 1200 hrs. and the Dutchess County Sherriffs Office and Hyde Park Police provided assistance at scene.
