Roosevelt FD with 63-14, 63-16, 63-22, 63-23 & 63-51, along with NDP EMS was dispatched to a reported pick-up truck with plow on fire at about 0956 hrs. this morning. On arrival of 63-C1, he gave update of well involved vehicle on fire about 20 feet from the structure.Fire was out in about an hour of dispatch and units back in service. The members of Roosevelt Fire District Engine Company #3 are always working to stay on top of the needs of their job by training as much as we can.  On this Monday night, September 28, 2020 members of the district participated in a lecture session provided by Lt. It is with deep regret and sorrow that we announce the passing of past Captain Kenneth Witter of the Engine Company.  Ken was a very community minded person, volunteering for the fire company, giving to the community by coaching for several Hyde Park and Roosevelt High School baseball, softball and football teams.Ken you will be missed, but not forgotten.  Keep Ken's family and friends in your hearts and prayers.  RIP

The Roosevelt Fire District has on order these two wonderful pieces of apparatus which will replace the current and aging units in their respective stations. The apparatus are both being built by E-One Fire Apparatus of Ocala, Florida and sold by Premier Fire Apparatus of Lake Katrine, NY.The new 100' Aerial Platform will replace the aging 110' aerial housed out of Station 3 at 830 Violet Avenue which is currently serving the district. We would like to give our THANKS to the busiest entity of the Roosevelt Fire District, our own Roosevelt Fire District Rescue Squad.  This outstanding group of people handled over 1500 calls last year and are well on their way to doing that again this year, at 617 calls to date already.   Congratulations and best wishes to all our Rescue Squad members as they keep handling all the calls even through these tough COVID-19 Virus pandemic times we are in today.  

This morning a fire destroyed a home here in Hyde Park, NY on Roosevelt Road at approximately 3:30am.  The homeowners were alerted by a smoke detector sounding and when they awoke to find smoke in the residence, they dialed DC911 to summon the Roosevelt Fire District which responded and found a fire between the walls in the front of the residence.  The fire department called a second alarm to bring additional resources and personnel to the scene to assist.   The fire was cont...
