At about 7pm this date, West Clinton FD with automatic mutual of Roosevelt FD 63-11 & 63-51 were dispatched to a report of a house fire at 563 North Quaker Lane. Upon initial arrival of West Clinton Chief a 2nd alarm was sounded adding additional equipment to the assignment, which included Roosevelt FD 63-14 from Engine Company #3. Roosevelt and West Clinton worked for a couple hours on extinguishing the fire, but not before Command requested Roosevelt 63-45 to the scene from Engine Company #3.
Fire departments on scene were, West Clinton, Roosevelt, Pleasant Valley, and Fairview on scene. Rhinebeck and East Clinton were on stand-by to cover West Clinton. Command requested the Dutchess County Fire Investigation Division to the scene for Cause and Origin Determination, they were assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriffs Office.

Roosevelt FD with 63-14, 63-16, 63-22, 63-23 & 63-51, along with NDP EMS was dispatched to a reported pick-up truck with plow on fire at about 0956 hrs. this morning. On arrival of 63-C1, he gave update of well involved vehicle on fire about 20 feet from the structure.Fire was out in about an hour of dispatch and units back in service. It is with deep regret and sorrow that we announce the passing of past Captain Kenneth Witter of the Engine Company. Ken was a very community minded person, volunteering for the fire company, giving to the community by coaching for several Hyde Park and Roosevelt High School baseball, softball and football teams.Ken you will be missed, but not forgotten. The Roosevelt Fire District has on order these two wonderful pieces of apparatus which will replace the current and aging units in their respective stations. We would like to give our THANKS to the busiest entity of the Roosevelt Fire District, our own Roosevelt Fire District Rescue Squad. This morning a fire destroyed a home here in Hyde Park, NY on Roosevelt Road at approximately 3:30am. The homeowners were alerted by a smoke detector sounding and when they awoke to find smoke in the residence, they dialed DC911 to summon the Roosevelt Fire District which responded and found a fire between the walls in the front of the residence.
